New twist in Finland education saga as NorthRift leader is grilled by DCI
Uasin Gishu Finland and Canada Education Programme has taken a new twist after a leader from the NorthRift region was grilled on Thursday.
He was grilled by the team investigating the fiasco that has seen parents defrauded millions Senator's of shillings in the overseas education programme.
According to the DCI boss Mohamed Amin confirmed Uasin Gishu senator Jackson Mandago was grilled for up to four hours at the DCI headquarters.
This is after he was summoned there by the detectives.
Mandago confirmed the grilling saying that, "I have today recorded my statement at the DCI (Kiambu Road) on the Finland and Canada overseas education programe,” he posted on Twitter.
Mandago was summoned to the DCI to give his statement in the ongoing probe into the scam.
“It is true he was here over the issue you know and the probe is now almost complete,” he said
This is the second time Mandago is facing detectives over the Finland issue.
The scholarship programme has occasioned uproar and massive protests in Uasin Gishu, with the hundreds of graduates affected and their parents taking to the streets to demand for refunds from the county government.
